Kathleen Eaton's works focus on city and suburban life. They reflect the artist's fascination with architectural spaces and their impact on human activity. Eaton's paintings and prints have evolved from this interest to explore the relations between imagination and reality in an urban environment. The scenes depicted in the Chicago Neighborhoods series of paintings do not exist in reality, but are inspired by the streets of Chicago. [The Chicago Public Art Guide, 2007]

The two murals, oil on canvas, were installed in 2000 and reinstalled in 2020 on the pedestrian bridge to the parking garage after Midway Modernization Program construction.​
